- analytical ability, critical thinking skills, effective writing skills, strong research ability

- one with a passion for understanding the complexities of everyday life
What is one piece of advice you have for students?
- In your first year try a range of courses. The various disciplines in university are very different from high school.
What area in your field are you most knowledgeable about?
Deviant behavior, qualitative methods, folk music, soc theory, soc of emotions
What is one accomplishment you are proud of?
the book, The Deviant Mystique.
Are you currently involved in something interesting outside the classroom?
I am currently the Vice-President Academic and Provost of Brandon University.
Is there anything else the student should know before taking your class?
There is a point to the laughter in class. It is your job to figure it out while you are having a good time.
