What is your style of teaching?
Discussion-based, with some lecture
What materials and media do you use in the classroom?
I use the blackboard, not ppt. Prefer to use newspaper articles for cases, although do have approx 50% formal cases. Use textbook material as well.
What is the most engaging assignment you give?
Ask students to go to a retailer and compare TVs. Actually going and looking at a product, comparing it first-hand provides best insight.
When grading a student, what do you look for?
Analysis and critical thinking - are they just repeating what they read or have they thought about it? Can they put together coherent argument?
What kind of student would love your class?
The smart students, the ones that ask challenging questions, but those that have prepared.
What is one piece of advice you have for students?
Study and learn. You can upgrade your skills and take risks in college with little risk, so do it.
What area in your field are you most knowledgeable about?
International business
Is there anything else the student should know before taking your class?
Be prepared to read and write a lot.
